Hi, I’m Heather!

Hello! Welcome!

I help teachers implement Morning Meeting to Build Relationships.  I developed a passion for learning and growing and became a professional development junkie that took on master’s, doctorate, research, videos, podcasts, books, and much more to ensure I was closing the achievement gap each year with my students.

You might be here if…

You need to close the achievement gap.

You can’t figure out how to start Morning Meeting.

You are looking to incorporate more engagement strategies.

You are needing to build stronger relationships with your students.

You need more ideas for your classroom management or a new classroom management plan.

My Expertise

Morning Meeting

It took me many years to figure out a system that worked well in our classroom. I now have different strategies and techniques for a solid classroom management plan.  My classroom management strategies that work are filled with varying engagement ideas to keep kids excited and a new Morning Meeting system.  On a daily basis, I use engaging visuals that lead to deep conversations. We laugh, show empathy, and really get to know each other.  Additionally, we practice inferencing and observing skills every day which leads to our academic success.

I really knew that my system started working when my kids wanted to get to class on time to start their morning, and I noticed tremendous growth emotionally, academically, and behaviorally. Other students from other classes want to come into our room in the mornings and teachers ask me what I am doing!

Schooling

I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, my master’s degree in Educational Leadership, and my doctorate degree in Special Education. Additionally, I have my principal endorsement to coach, teach, and inspire new and veteran teachers.

Experience

As of 2022, I have been teaching for 13 years. I am currently an instructional coach, but I taught 2nd grade,1st grade, and 6th grade.

I have assisted pre-service teachers, student teachers, and colleagues with academic achievement, grant-writing, engagement ideas, morning meeting strategies, and transforming their classroom management plan.

We closed the academic achievement gap in our classroom the year before I left to become a coach.

I also have passion for helping pre-service teachers. I teach in the education department at a local community college, and I really enjoy sharing my love with future teachers. Additionally, sharing my grant skills with other teachers is truly a blessing!
